One of the great things about
being a human is meeting other humans who inspire you. This weekend I was
entertained by one of my favorite comedians (who is still alive), Christopher
Titus. He was hilarious! The thing that grabbed my attention was the pages of
new material he brought out to the stage. It’s a rare pleasure to see the
mechanics of how a master craftsman evolves their talent. Fearlessly he
stammered through the rough draft lines and garnered not only laughter, but the
hearts of his fans because essentially he was saying, “I trust you audience
with my personal growth, so don’t suck, okay?”
It sent the message home that
you’re only living if you are pushing forward and trying something new. It’s
that tingle of fear where your inner doubt will give very convincing proof why
you should just maintain status quo, but your higher self beckons to the
adventure before you. Thank you, Mr. Titus, for continuing to evolve and in the
process challenging me to do the same.
There's nothing like a good laugh to get motivated and make you appreciate life!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Chris mentioned the reason why folks go to see comedians, "We laugh so we don't kill others."
